The most commonly seen cars in the Peking-to-Paris race are 1968 model automobiles. Ahmet Öngün and Erdal Tokcan will race with a 1967 Anadol model with the number 96. Anadol is the first Turkish automobile to be manufactured domestically.

In preparation for the rally, the chassis, frame and mechanical parts of the Anadol A1 were completed. Afterwards, the necessary accessories and the car’s electrical hardware were installed. The automobile was ready for a test drive in April 2010.

Five thousand kilometers of the test drive were conducted in the Kutman Mining land near Terkos Lake, and the durability of the mechanical parts was tested.

Our drivers purchased an Anadol A1 that they had been found in the Ümraniye Municipal Auto Park and delivered the car to me and my team at the Ford Rally Sports Garage. After laboring long and hard for one and a half years, the car was restored. We believe our car will complete this difficult 14,500-km course. We took all the necessary measures. Without changing the car’s technology, we increased the engine from 1200 cc to 1600 cc and the fuel tank to 120 liters. Since the car will drive 500 km to 600 km each day, we completely changed the car’s interior and installed race seats – using every ounce of our energy to win this race.
